Okay, so I'm not a purist. The work involved in baking, leveling and squaring the walls of a gingerbread house is more than I've wanted to invest.
Luckily for me, gingerbread house kits are readily available at the grocery store.
I help out with piping the icing onto the house (this year the kids' dad used a spatula to put the icing for the walls on), but the kids are in charge of the decorating.
