Arabic Language Software

Rosetta Stone: Arabic Explorer
CD-Rom, Fairfield Language Technologies, Mac OS, Windows 95/98/NT/XP/2000/Me
The Rosetta Stone Arabic Explorer is the perfect (and affordable) introduction to this language course. The cd contains the first 22 lessons of the course.

The Rosetta Stone Language library is justly famous for its immersion style approach to teaching language.
Although the lessons vary in content, they follow the same basic structure: you are presented with four photos and you hear a spoken word, phrase or sentence (spoken by a native speaker). Your task is to match the phrase to the photo.
The photos shuffle each time and new photos and words are introduced.
Learning is very rapid with this approach. The US State Department and the Peace Corp use this software to teach foreign languages.
